Message from the Managing Director Jeanette Buerling:

Dear Ahimsa Festival friends and supporters:

The day Julie and I met was the first day of my 300 hr yoga works teacher training program. I practice yoga in such depth because it helps me balance my hectic and demanding job as a film producer in the Hollywood industry. In this Yoga Works program with about 35 yoga teachers, July and I were lucky because it was just the two of us sharing a mentor (Jennifer Elliott). We grew very close during this six month program .  Spending this time with her was a tremendous inspiration for me. This inspiration was a spark that grew to a burning need to share my compassion for her cause and to support The Ahimsa Festival Foundation with all my heard. That is why I agreed to become the Managing Director of the Foundation.  My daughter Verenice Buerling is as inspired by Julie’s vision and helped us create this vision to the world by designing this website and producing all the video on the site. It became a family project that for which my daughter and I share a great compassion. This year’s festival will be supporting the Valley Cares Family Justice Center. The yearly festival  events to come will be supporting other meaningful causes, which inspire and grow awareness in the world to improve our well-being in all aspects, including health, personal growth, educational and environmental  developments. This first festival is the beginning of many more to come. I invite all like-minded supporters to attend this very first festival and help us launch something that will make a difference. I’m honored to be invited to be a part of this first festival and I am grateful to the Park Plaza hotel in Los Angeles for donating their breathtakingly beautiful grand ballroom to us. This location will give the festival the most amazing ambiance. I invite you all to attend this amazing festival on October 14^th, 2012 and support this important cause with us. Thank you.
